Dear Warriors,
Last Chance has a new web site - www.piczo.com/thelastchanceband. It is great to see a band born from the Weekend Warriors program enjoying the success they really deserve, playing to crowds around Melbourne and country areas. Please check these guys out, they really know how to captivate a crowd and are building up a big following.
Keep on rocking guys!

What great bunch of guys "Last Chance" are . . . they stepped into a gig at the far away Reefton Hotel at the last weekend at the last minute when "Stix n Stonz" couldn?t make it. And they endured the cold and drizzle to put on a sizzling outdoor performance on the mobile bandstand! Thanks for being helpful, co-operative, professional and supportive.
Kind regards
Neil Perry

To all that were involved with the Good Friday Appeal well done . I have just joined the Warriors even though I have been Stonedial's lead singer for about Seven Months ,this was my first Warriors event and I think the committee and all who helped out should be very proud .It was really well organised back stage and on stage . A great all round effort and all for a good cause .

Ta for the congratulations for the Good Friday gig. Everyone on the committee was very happy with how the night went. We raised just over $1100 which will be sent to the RCH appeal shortly.

Well done to the committee and members in putting on the Good Friday Appeal event. I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the audience (even more so than performing). Anyone know how much money was raised??
Anyway, to all who were involved in the organising and execution of the event, go and spend 10 minutes each on the back-slappin' machine!

The following link is to a site specifically for Aussie baby boomers - thought there might be one or two Warriors who qualify :)

Lots of music related stuff, quizzes, discussions etc. Check out the post about the laser turntable for playing your old vinyl albums - no needle, nothing touches the record.

Hello everyone,
Further to my posting below of January 30th requesting TAB's for Richard Hawleys music, I decided to also have a look on the Internet to see if I could find there.
To my surprise I found a web site for this performer that had a forum where people could post questions and comments etc similar to the Warriors Victoria one here.
I made a posting on the forum from here in Hong Kong yesterday morning and to my pleasant surprise Richard Hawley personally answered my inquiry and provided me with the progressions and arrangements for the song that I was after.
The point of this message is to say that I remain impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of many professional musicians such as Bob Spencer, Paul Norton, Peter Jones (kate cerebrano, renee geyer band etc), Wendy Stapleton, Richard Clapton, Richard Hawley and others such as Michelle Brown towards amateur musicians such as myself.
If you would like to see a copy of the dialogue from yesterday's Forum, please log on to http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=69840#69840
Cheers all

Bob Spencer's "Amp" Masterclass last night was superb. I strongly suggest everyone reserves 5 March at the Warriors open mic for Bob's class on stagecraft.
This guy has a wealth of knowledge and any opportunity to hear him speak should be leaped upon.

Alan, could you please post this...
The Main Street Band currently have a position available for a lead guitarist/back up vocalist. The band performs 70's 80'90's covers and has gigs booked for February, March and beyond. As well as a stand alone singer, drums, bass,& rhythm we also have a sax player and sound man as part of the crew.
Please contact Frank Hiern on 9580 8888 or 0438 584531 to arrange for an invite to rehearsals on a Monday evening in Bayswater

Re the cancelled Mega Gig at Doncaster due to new costs imposed.
Well the Shoppingtown pub has just made many enemies if that's the case, after reading Alans email. Some people just can't see through there narrow mindedness. I can't think of how many people and times we've had dinners there after any Warrior event. I can't remember how many people I've invited to come along to both venues at this pub. I can't remember how many people I've explained to about the services of these venues for corporate work outside Warriors. I'm going to be a busy man ringing around all these people explaining there is no merit at all in the good will that I have personally spread of the Shoppingtown Hotel over a period getting close to 3 years. And the sad thing is that I'm only one person, there's another several hundred like me keen to promote the next venue and that's not even touching the promotional factor that Billy Hydes has given to this venue over a national audience.
Does anyone else feel this way, betrayed, or is it just me.

Tell Alan I reckon he was "ripped off" not getting through to the ABC finals. The McCartney number (No Other Baby?) was grouse.

G'day,
Had fun at the Open Mike on Sunday 2/10. Suggestion: get the white board thing going like we did that Saturday night at the Frankston Guitar Festival. I thought it generated a lot of energy and encouraged guys who have never played together before to do so.
Also I would encourage more Warriors to get along....

Alas I missed the jam for October 2 due to other commitments, but am really keen at attending the next. My band is a little fractured at the moment and are currently seeking a bass player to fill the lineup. Once that is on track again, we will be a force to contend with.
Re: the female singer from the Qld warriors, I have been wanting to get together with you for a while to discuss creative outlets. I am really positive that we can churn some good material out but I neglected to exchange contact information with her to get something going. I can be contacted at vampiress@vampiress.net and would dearly love to hear from her, or anyone for that matter that wants to get together and play some stuff.
Cheers

Hi All
I thought the Open Mike day at the Greyhound on the 2nd October was very positive. I personally was very impressed with the tightness of "Line". The name of the band I think is Frontline, but because the lead singer wasn't there (the frontman) it was shortened to Line. If they're entering into the ABC gig I would personally say they could be a benchmark that the rest of us should be going for.
The Canadian guy from Montreal blew everyone away and as Geoff said after watching his performance, "I was going to go home and practise my scales, but now i think I'll just go and buy a tambourine."
A great female singer from the Qld. warriors, the Greyhounds front of house speakers will never be the same again, great voice.
I didn't win the raffle but I had a great afternoon, thanks Geoff and the commitee.
Cheers
John Carter
